DESCRIPTION

CARBON BLACK
Carbon black is obtained through the incomplete burning (lack of oxygen) of hydrocarbons.
Various production methods yield various kinds of carbon black with a different size particle.

BONE / IVORY BLACK CI PBk 9 - 77267
Bone/ivory black is obtained through the incomplete burning of bone/ivory (10-20% carbon).
There are various names for the varying qualities of bone black; ivory black e.g. has a superior quality.

GRAPHITE CI PBk 10 - 77265
Graphite has 3 varieties:
Natural micro crystalline graphite (black graphite) with a carbon content of between 40-85%.
Natural macro crystalline graphite (silver graphite) with a carbon content of between 60-99%.
Synthetic electrode graphite with a carbon content of >98%.

USE

CARBON BLACK

  • Cement products like industrial flooring, concrete blocks, concrete bricks, roofing tiles, tiles, grouting, terrazo, etc.
  • Lime products like mineral paint, fresco, plaster, ornaments, etc.
  • Synthetics like plastic, bitumen, asphalt, rubber, resins, quartz flooring, etc.
  • Paint like oil and water colour, etc.
